Update September 11, 2019

Starting on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 7 a.m., the Harrison Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) Remediation Team will be onsite to perform a series of supplemental borings, which are required to further study the Site remedial action area that are anticipated to begin in late 2019. The supplemental borings will be performed across the Harrison Site and are scheduled to take approximately 6 weeks and would end in early November 2019.

Similar to the January 2019 through March 2019 supplemental borings, the remediation team will stage their drilling equipment and sample coolers in the western part of the Site on the former Gas Holder concrete pad (i.e., south of the former GSMP operations soil storage bins). The remediation team respectfully requests that this drilling equipment and sample coolers be left alone since important environmental samples will be collected and managed in this area.

Please note that the remediation team’s surveyor will be onsite this Thursday, September 12, 2019 and Friday, September 13, 2019 to field locate these proposed supplemental borings.

The PS&S drilling contractors will be escorted by the remediation team. On Monday, September 16, 2019, the remediation team will walk the Site to assess the supplemental boring locations and the existing Site conditions and apparent utilities.
