PSE&G Former Harrison MGP Site – Week of February 18, 2019


NOTE: On Monday, February 18 and Tuesday, February 19, contractors working on behalf of the PSE&G site remediation group will be performing soil boring advancement and soil sample collection within the site’s internal access road that runs north-south.

Drilling will be phased to minimize disruption to PSE&G onsite operations. Field staff will help direct traffic around the work areas. Please distribute this information to all onsite staff.

The PSE&G site remediation group and its environmental consultant, PS&S, are performing onsite pre-design work at the Harrison former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) site as part of planning for the next phase of remediation, which is expected to begin in 4th Quarter 2019.


The work is being performed in accordance with the guidance and regulations of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), and under the oversight of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) of record.

General Work Description

  • Performing geotechnical borings around the proposed hydraulic barrier wall alignment.
  • Performing soft digs, as needed, prior to drilling activity.
  • Performing concrete coring, as needed, prior to drilling activity.
  • Performing work zone and perimeter air monitoring.
